Fuquay‑Varina Elementary (FVES) enrolls students who are assigned to it as their WCPSS “base school” based on home address; start by using WCPSS’s address look‑up tool to confirm FVES is your base school, then complete the district’s online enrollment form (or pre‑enroll for the next school year). (wcpss.net) After you submit the online form, your base school will contact you with next steps; to expedite, upload/bring a certified birth certificate, proof of Wake County domicile (e.g., recent utility bill/lease/settlement statement; special rules apply to offer-to-purchase agreements), parent/legal custodian photo ID, immunization record, and any custody documents, and NC law also requires a health assessment within 12 months for new public school students. (wcpss.net) Key district dates listed for the 2026–27 cycle include Oct. 15, 2025 (kindergarten & pre-registration opens), Dec. 15–17, 2025 (initial school assignment notification), and March 2–13, 2026 (transfer application window); families may also request a school transfer within 10 days of enrollment. (wcpss.net) If FVES is capped and full, enrollment still starts with your base school; you may be assigned to an overflow school (with bus service) and placed on the FVES waitlist, and if a seat opens the capped school may call during a mid-year call (end of 2nd quarter) or a summer call with different rules for staying at the overflow school. (wcpss.net) Waitlists require the student to be enrolled in WCPSS and are removed if the student leaves WCPSS or moves out of the base area; capped-school eligibility priority categories include rising kindergarteners (and rising 6th/9th graders) who lived in the base area before the cap date and pre-enroll before March 1, plus children of full-time WCPSS employees who work at the capped school.
