Teaching Approach

Updated 8mo ago

The Caedmon School describes a progressive, Montessori-inspired approach that honors each child as an individual, cultivating natural curiosity as the foundation for academic achievement while also nurturing empathy and respect for others’ perspectives. They emphasize individualized, child-centered learning (“teach the child, not the material”) in a supportive environment where children build independence, confidence, and a willingness to take risks. Caedmon also describes “Progressive Montessori” as blending core Montessori principles with other progressive, research-informed practices (including purposeful play elements and specialist classes) to support optimal child development.
