The school’s listed website (ps77lowerlab.org) currently redirects to unrelated content and does not provide admissions instructions; NYC Public Schools (NYCPS) enrollment pages are the reliable source. (ps77lowerlab.org) PS 77 Lower Lab is an NYCPS Gifted & Talented (G&T) program site, so families apply through MySchools by submitting the NYC kindergarten application (for entering kindergarten) and listing the PS 77 G&T program among your choices. (schools.nyc.gov) For Fall 2026 entry, the NYC kindergarten application window is December 9, 2025–January 23, 2026, with offers released March 31, 2026; G&T upper-grade (grades 1–4) applications run April 21–May 8, 2026, with offers released June 11, 2026. (schools.nyc.gov) Kindergarten G&T eligibility is determined after you apply (often via a pre-K teacher evaluation for many settings, or an interview process for children not in those settings), while grades 1–4 require meeting NYCPS report-card criteria before/when applying. (schools.nyc.gov) Priority categories include priority for siblings of currently enrolled or pre-registered students; some G&T programs also prioritize applicants who live in a specific district (G&T programs do not give zoned priority), and PS 77 participates in a Diversity in Admissions initiative that prioritizes applicants eligible for free/reduced-price lunch for 12% of kindergarten seats. (schools.nyc.gov) If seats are not available, eligible applicants may be placed on (or can join) waitlists in MySchools; waitlist offers follow the same priorities as original offers, and families can add themselves to additional waitlists and accept/decline any waitlist offer through MySchools. Lower Lab lists multiple after-school options, including a free onsite “Beacon Program” for PS 77 and PS 198 families. It runs Monday–Friday from 2:30–5:30 (dismissal at 5:30) and requires 80% attendance (minimum 4/5 days a week). Registration begins in July and acceptance is by lottery; the page notes there is currently a waitlist and provides an email to join it. The page also notes the Beacon Program is city-funded and run by the Stanley Isaacs Center.
