Teaching Approach

Updated 7mo ago

Follow The Child Montessori School describes its teaching philosophy as an authentic Montessori approach that helps children pursue their natural interests within carefully prepared, child-centered environments. The school emphasizes independence, responsibility, self-motivation, curiosity, and confidence, while supporting each child’s unique development through mixed-age classrooms, hands-on exploration, and close partnership among teachers, parents, and the broader school community.

Admissions

Updated 7mo ago

As of March 11, 2026, Follow The Child Montessori School says it is accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year. (followthechild.org) Prospective families begin by submitting an inquiry and scheduling either a virtual or in-person tour; after the tour, the school says it will send the application link. (followthechild.org) After applying, families are asked to complete two meetings: a virtual parent-Head of School meeting and an informal student-teacher classroom meeting. (followthechild.org) The student-teacher meeting is required for children 18 months and older, and for prospective Toddler House students, one parent may join that classroom visit. (followthechild.org) The only clearly stated priority category is siblings of currently enrolled students, who are guaranteed a space; siblings of formerly enrolled students are not guaranteed placement, and I did not find a publicly posted deadline, decision calendar, or waitlist policy on the admissions information I reviewed.
