Goodwill Excel Center PCS accepts applications on a rolling basis year-round; applicants can apply online (via the school’s “Admissions Application” link) or request a paper application by calling the school. Enrollment is open to District of Columbia residents age 14+ who previously dropped out of school, and applicants are offered seats on a rolling basis as space permits (the application itself does not guarantee enrollment). After being selected for a conditional seat, students must attend a document session and submit required paperwork (including proof of DC residency, official/sealed transcripts from all attended high schools or a transcript waiver, and proof of immunizations), complete math and literacy placement assessments, and then complete the iExcel student orientation to be officially enrolled. If capacity is full, applicants are placed on a waitlist in the order completed applications are received and are admitted from the waitlist in that same order; applicants under 18 may be placed on a separate “under 18 waitlist” if under-18 enrollment reaches/exceeds 6% of projected annual enrollment. For key dates, the SY 2025–2026 calendar shows five terms (Aug 27–Oct 16; Oct 22–Dec 18; Jan 7–Mar 5; Mar 11–Apr 30; May 11–Jul 2) and graduations on January 16 and July 10.
