Teaching Approach

Updated 2mo ago

Our Lady of Loreto Catholic School describes a Christ-centered, whole-child approach that nurtures students spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically. Its philosophy emphasizes rigorous academics, critical thinking, creative problem solving, real-life application of learning, development of each child’s gifts, and formation in the Catholic faith through prayer, service, community, and personal relationship with God.

Admissions

Updated 2mo ago

Families can start by submitting an inquiry or tour request through the school site, then complete the online application when available; for the posted 2026/2027 cycle, applications opened on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 7:00 AM, and the school says to allow up to 4 weeks for processing. Applicants submit the online forms and a non-refundable $25 application fee, then, if accepted, complete online enrollment and pay a non-refundable registration fee of $275 for the first student plus $50 for each additional student, with the enrollment and fee required before a spot is reserved. Required materials include a birth certificate, IEP/504 documentation if applicable, baptism/Communion/Confirmation certificates if applicable, handbook review, and for grades 6-8 a teacher recommendation and the last two years of report cards; students may also be asked to attend a shadow day, take an assessment, and/or interview with the principal. Key eligibility requirements include agreement by the family to the school’s Catholic philosophy and policies, attendance at religious classes/activities, a reasonable hope of success in the program, and age cutoffs of age 5 by October 1 for kindergarten and age 6 by October 1 for first grade. Priority is not a strict ranked list, but the policy says preference is given to Catholic students and that admissions decisions may consider Our Lady of Loreto parish membership, another Catholic parish membership, student/parent conduct, academic performance, outstanding balances at other Catholic schools, current class dynamics, and relation to current or alumni students, though relation only prioritizes review and does not guarantee placement. I did not find an explicit waitlist policy on the admissions pages; the site instead notes that applicants can track admissions status online and that a child’s spot is reserved only after acceptance, enrollment completion, and payment.
