The Cove School emphasizes a highly individualized, supportive approach built around belonging, personalization, collaboration with families/providers, and diagnostic assessment to match each student with specific interventions. Instruction includes extended literacy and math blocks (with Orton-Gillingham–trained teachers), experiential/project-based learning in other subjects, and integrated executive-functioning support. Students are also screened for assistive technology, with tools and training provided to promote independence, alongside integrated clinical services throughout the school day.

Cove’s admissions are described as an application-and-review process that can be initiated by either a family or a school district. Families submit an application along with the student’s most recent evaluations and achievement testing, and (if available) a current IEP; the school’s team reviews the file to determine fit (the FAQ notes this review typically takes about a week). If Cove believes it may be an appropriate placement, the student is invited to visit a classroom for a half or full day, and parents meet with the Director of Admissions to discuss the student’s needs. Enrollment decisions are then made jointly by Cove administration and the student’s family. The website does not publish specific admissions deadlines/key dates (beyond noting they are accepting and reviewing applications and that open houses occur periodically with tours available anytime), and it does not describe a waitlist process or any priority/first-preference applicant categories.

The page notes that families can use the Virtual Backpack for the schedule of days and times activities are offered.
