For new students, Speedway Schools directs families to start pre-registration in PowerSchool and then contact Wheeler Elementary to set up an in-person registration meeting with the principal. (speedwayschools.net) At the in-person meeting, the district requires a birth certificate (or guardianship paperwork) plus two proofs of residency (homeowner documents like a mortgage/tax statement + utility bill, or renter documents like a current lease + utility bill). (speedwayschools.net) Returning students complete annual online registration in PowerSchool Parent by selecting “Forms,” completing forms A–K, and submitting them; the district also notes two proofs of residency are required for approval. (speedwayschools.net) For incoming kindergarteners, Wheeler lists the key timeline steps as attending Kindergarten Round Up, completing in-person enrollment in July 2026, and starting kindergarten on August 5, 2026; immunization records are also required for enrollment (with the district linking to Indiana’s 2025–2026 school immunization requirements). (speedwayschools.org) The Wheeler and district pages reviewed do not describe any waitlist process or specific priority categories (beyond residency/attendance-boundary assignment).
