Teaching Approach

Updated 6mo ago

Plymouth Church School describes its teaching philosophy as nurturing children’s sense of self, community, and a lifelong love of learning in a warm environment where they can make choices and pursue their interests. The school emphasizes hands-on, active learning through an emergent, project-based curriculum that builds on children’s curiosity, questions, and experiences, while embedding academic skills throughout the day.

Admissions

Updated 6mo ago

Plymouth Church School says applicants for the 2026–2027 school year should apply through TADS; applications open the day after Labor Day, and the school follows up after submission with next steps. Weekly adult-only tours run from mid-October through early December, and the main deadlines listed are November 15, 2025 for priority applicants and December 15, 2025 for all other applicants. Acceptance letters and waitlist letters are scheduled to be emailed on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Requirements shown on the admissions page include age cutoffs of being 2, 3, 4, or 5 years old by September 1, 2026 for the corresponding class, and the school enrolls children ages two through five. Priority categories are siblings of current students, children of school alumni, and children of Plymouth Church members; the page says priority applicants get first consideration for 2s and 3s, morning spots first go to priority applicants with a sibling still in the school, and siblings/alumni/church members also receive priority if 4s or 5s space is available.
