Teaching Approach

Updated 6mo ago

Westminster describes its teaching approach as one that nurtures bright, curious, motivated students through challenge, with an energizing learning environment and expert faculty who meet students where they are and take them further. Its curriculum emphasizes experiential and service learning, character development, and Christian values, aiming to help students gain both the skills and wisdom to become leaders of conscience. Admissions

Updated 6mo ago

Westminster says families apply through Ravenna, which it uses for admissions events, the online application, and transcript submission; every applicant must submit the Shared Applicant Information Form, the Westminster Supplement, and a $95 application fee. (westminster.net) Lower School applicants also complete grade-specific steps such as an on-campus evaluation or virtual observation, report cards, parent supplement, teacher evaluations, JATP testing for pre-first through fourth grade, and SSAT results plus a principal/counselor evaluation for fifth grade, while grades 6–12 require a parent supplement, student questionnaire, interview (and group activity for grades 6–8), report cards, teacher and principal/counselor evaluations, SSAT results, and Character Skills Snapshot. (westminster.net) For the 2026–27 cycle, applications opened October 1, 2025; the admissions and financial-aid application deadline is January 15, 2026; supporting materials are due January 30, 2026; evaluations/interviews are held on selected Saturdays in January and February; decisions are released April 4, 2026; and new-family welcome events run April through May. (westminster.net) Westminster states that late applicants are considered for its wait pool, and incomplete files are not reviewed until after April, when the best initial outcome Westminster says it can usually offer is waitlist; it also says it does not accept new students once the school year has begun. (westminster.net) On the admissions pages reviewed, Westminster highlights pre-first (kindergarten), sixth, and ninth grade as its main entry points where it intentionally expands classes, but I did not find any separately stated admissions priority categories such as sibling, alumni, or staff preference on those pages; Westminster also says its admissions process is need-blind for financial assistance.
