Phelps Architecture, Construction, and Engineering High School (Phelps ACE) is a citywide DCPS selective application high school with no in-boundary requirement; students apply through the My School DC application (typically for grades 9–11 entry) and can learn more through events like EdFEST (December 6, 2025). For the 2026–27 cycle, the My School DC high-school application deadline was February 2, 2026, and families could optionally adjust school rankings until March 13, 2026 at 5 p.m.; students who missed the deadline can submit a post-lottery application to be added to waitlists. Applicants must submit required report cards (GPA and attendance are reviewed; a 2.5 GPA is recommended), two recommendations submitted in My School DC (commonly from a math teacher and a counselor/administrator), and then complete an interview that includes an on-site writing sample/essay. Phelps scores applicants on a rubric and requires a minimum total score of 15 points to be considered eligible; eligible applicants are ranked by total points for seat offers, so priority is based on rubric ranking rather than a geographic boundary. After applying, qualified students are contacted to schedule an interview, results are posted in the My School DC portal within about 30 days of the interview, and eligible students not initially offered a seat may remain on the My School DC waitlist for that school year (offers, if any, follow My School DC waitlist rules and any applicable preference groups).

Phelps ACE High School’s website does not publish details for an on-site after-school care/extended-day program; it only provides an “After School Programs” link that points families to DCPS Out of School Time Programs (OSTP) registration/resources. DCPS describes OSTP afterschool as serving PK3–grade 5 (elementary) and PK3–grade 8 (education campuses), and the DCPS OSTP afterschool sites list for SY 2025–2026 (55 schools) does not include Phelps ACE High School.
