Hillside Conant School describes its approach as combining a therapeutic and academic environment to support student success, especially for students with unique behavioral and learning challenges. The school emphasizes individualized instruction, remediation of skill gaps, flexibility, creativity, and use of best instructional practices, with teachers meeting students where they are and using both specialized tools and whole-group or one-on-one support as needed.

Hillside Conant does not appear to use a separate public-school lottery or standard neighborhood enrollment process; the school says children are enrolled in Atlanta Public Schools at the same time they are admitted to Hillside for treatment, so school entry is tied to Hillside treatment admission. (hillsideconantschool.weebly.com) To apply, a parent or caregiver starts with Hillside Admissions by submitting the admissions inquiry form or calling Admissions, and then an admissions coordinator sends a Getting Started email with the application for admission. (hside.org) Publicly listed requirements include a family admissions application, clinical documentation from the current treating provider describing diagnosis, medications, treatment history, recent behaviors requiring a higher level of care, and interventions tried; once admitted, families should also provide school records, IEP/eligibility reports, and psychological testing for the school. (hside.org) For timing, no annual school-specific application deadline was posted; instead, admissions appear to be rolling, with Hillside saying treatment-team review usually takes 24-48 business hours after the completed application and clinical referral are received, after which the team works on insurance authorization and schedules an admission date. (hside.org) I did not find any published Hillside Conant waitlist policy or formal priority categories on the school website or Hillside admissions pages; the closest public note is that if a child is approved, the team will either schedule an admission date or estimate when the next space will be available.
